Operations Manager – Construction & Rail Training

Role Group are searching for an Operations/ Training Centre Manager for our Construction and Rail Training arm

This role requires an outstanding Operations Manager who has relevant up to date exposure and experience of working with learners in their place of work.

We are exclusively looking for an experienced Operations/ Centre Manager from the skills, work-based learning sector of construction and rail. Someone who can demonstrate they have the background and ability to drive exceptional performance, people culture, management and quality.

  • Our training centre is accredited with NSAR, RISQS, CITB, NPORS and ProQual.
  • We deliver courses across the rail and construction sector.
  • We have an ICT centre for delivering CSCS card exams
  • We deliver Occupational Health services including rail medicals plus drug and alcohol testing.

Who are we looking for? 

  • You will have experience in the construction and rail sector, ideally running apprenticeship contracts for an independent training company or college provider.
  • You will have managed people, motivating staff to drive their own performance, giving clear direction and support as well as identifying and working on professional performance.
  • Demonstrate performance wins and have a full understanding of all aspects of quality and compliance within the rail and construction sector.
  • Understanding of ESFA, DWP, AEB, CITB, NSAR, Ofsted and all awarding bodies. Oversee and maintain our RoATP applications and processes.
  • Strong communication skills as you will be expected to not only manage internally and manage teams on a national basis, but you will be expected to develop external relationships and represent the business to employers and educational organisations.
  • Ability to assess and develop reporting, performance indicators and design operational success.
  • Review existing processes and embed them across the organisation or develop new processes for the benefit of the business.

Responsibilities:

This is a newly created position, and you will have full autonomy to implement your management style and career objectives in driving the business forward.

  • You will be responsible for delivery and management of all programmes and the growth of our offering.
  • You will support the direction and strategy of the organisation’s growth and delivery.
  • You will manage all trainers, tutors, assessors and IQA’s including all required elements scheduling, upskilling and CPD
  • Deliver an outstanding environment for learners and clients when engaging in the services provided.
  • Maximising performance against targets set internally and externally.
  • Build strategic relationships internally and externally that will support performance and growth.
