Course Summary:
The LU Worksite Safety Induction (LU-WSI) is an entry-level competence intended for staff that will work on London Underground managed infrastructure on behalf of TFL. The WSI provides staff with a health and safety induction for working on construction sites, rail depots and station maintenance. It covers the safety procedures and risks that are common across the rail industry, whatever the role and type of site.
A Sentinel card validated for the LU Worksite Safety Induction (LU-WSI) endorsement is required for access to sites. LUCAS cards and ICI assessments are no longer valid.
Pre-requisites & requirements:
Step 1: Induction E-learning
E-learning induction – your sponsor or employer will need to book your course. This will enable us to create your login credentials. The E-learning module takes around one to two hours to complete. It is divided into sections, each section taking around 15-20 minutes to complete.
Step 2: Assessment
Once E-learning is completed, you can arrange or your assessment at our approved training centre in Highams Park.
Test booking can be made via training@rolegroup.co.uk or by calling our team on 0203 865 2987. Please arrive for your assessment at Role Training 15 minutes prior to your start time. Our invigilator will check your identity and explain the process.
The assessment is a computer-based test. The assessment will present 20 questions, 16 must be answered correctly to pass (80% or higher).
The maximum time allowed to complete the assessment is 45 minutes. It is a ‘closed book’ test under exam and invigilated conditions.
If you pass the assessment, you will gain your LU-WSI competence on your Sentinel card.
Assessment Duration:
The maximum time allowed to complete the assessment is 45 minutes.
Additional Information:
The LU Worksite Safety Induction (LU-WSI) competence is valid for 6 years, after which you will need to complete a new E-learning and re-certification assessment.
Holding the WSI competence allows you to access London Underground sites, however, it does not allow you to touch the railway infrastructure. You may work all other jobs that do not require you to interfere with the rail infrastructure such as vegetation, general labour, cleaning etc. Those who wish to carry out track engineering or maintenance must have successfully completed the Track Induction training (for Network Rail) and/or Basic Track Awareness (for London Underground).
Results:
Results for the LU-WSI competence will be uploaded onto your Sentinel card/profile within 24 hours on successful completion of the event. Should there be any complication in uploading the competencies, we will endeavour to resolve the matter within 5 working days.
