Saturday October 10th marks World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is ‘mental health for all’. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
At Role Group, we know that it is extremely important that each and everyone of us look after our mental health. We encourage all of our employees, right down from the director in the office to the labourer on site, to approach a member of our HSQE team or management when they feel they need support or are struggling with a mental health issue. We are working with our team and the industry to remove the stigma about mental health especially amongst men in the Construction Industry. Below we have set out some accessible helplines that are available throughout the day to contact for support. We have also outlined a number of podcasts that are on the subject of mental health and are a great resource for looking after your well-being.
